What is Prayer? Lenten Devotional Series

ImageOften times when we think of the season of Lent, we think of giving up something in our lives. That may mean giving up chocolate, or a favorite Starbuck’s drink. This year, instead of giving up something in your life, consider adding something instead. Consider committing yourself to developing a prayer life.

The Lenten Devotional Series focuses on what prayer is, how we pray, and how prayer works in our lives. The first session had about 40 attendees and was an introduction to prayer. There are four remaining discussions, led by our Interim Rector, The Rev. Mary Kay Brown. These sessions focus on exploring our own beliefs about prayer, the relationship we have with God through prayer, the many different types of prayer, and how to build a better prayer life for ourselves and our families.

Each begins with coffee and fellowship at 6:30 pm, with the program starting at 6:45pm and ending by 7:45 pm to enable families with children to get home by 8 pm.

There is a children’s discipleship program for 1st to 5th graders that coincides with the adult program. Childcare will be offered to children who are 6 months through kindergarten age. Please join us as we commit to a prayerful life this Lenten season.
