It was a cold and rainy Saturday morning on April 11th, but that didn't deter more than 100 family members and friends from gathering at the church the day before Easter. Participants were entertained by some very talented youth, led by Edith Reed, who performed a touching drama based on the Story of Benjamin's Box and the Resurrection Eggs -- the tale of a child following Jesus during biblical times to find out who he is. Following the drama, over 50 children lined up to parade through the sanctuary and stop at 4 buckets where they could collect 3 eggs at each. Resurrection Eggs were hidden in the buckets. Any child who brought forward a Resurrection Egg was able to turn it in for a prize. All enjoyed treats and refreshments, and of course fellowship. It was a great start to a joyous Easter weekend. Thanks to all who planned, prepared and participated. Many were overheard hoping this would become an annual event for St. David's. In May Family Fellowship Night will return to the evening time slot with the theme "Celebrating Mothers." Save the date for Saturday, May 9th from 5:30-7:00 at the church. |
