Dear Friends at St. David’s, It is with very mixed feelings that I write to let you know that Jonathan Stube, our Youth Director for two years, is resigning effective June 28. Jonathan is leaving us to pursue a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education Counseling, starting at Penn State this fall. We will most certainly miss Jonathan and his commitment and connection with our youth. He has built a strong ministry with youth and adult leaders; under his guidance our youth group has grown and our program has matured. And we will miss Erin and baby Ruthie not only as youth leader and official youth group baby, but as friends as well. The process to fill the youth director’s position will be inclusive, deliberate and prayerful. I will meet with key youth and adult youth group leaders to gather their input on the future shape of our youth program. Please feel free to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it or call me with any feedback you may have. Our youth ministry is vital to the life and growth of our parish; I value your suggestions as we make these important decisions about staff and program development. We will conduct a search within the next month and hope to have a candidate selected before Jonathan leaves. However long the search takes, our dedicated group of youth leaders has committed to continuing our program in Jonathan’s absence. Our youth will continue to see familiar faces and be able to participate in scheduled activities throughout the summer. Please take a few minutes in the next several weeks to thank Jonathan for all his hard work and commitment to our youth. I ask your prayers during this time of transition and discernment as we move ahead to love and serve the Lord. In Christ, Rev. Mary Kay Brown |
