St. David’s Welcomes Interim Rector

The Vestry met for a special session on Monday, 1/12/09, to call this parish’s Interim Rector. Bishop Jones was in attendance for the meeting as well as approximately 70 parishioners to witness this important event in this community’s history.

By a unanimous Vestry vote (with the exception of Mark Boyer who abstained from voting due to a conflict of interest,) Rev. Mary Kay Brown was called to be the Interim Rector for a period of two years, beginning on Monday, 1/12/09. Rev. Brown enthusiastically accepted the Vestry’s call to be Interim Rector via cell phone during the meeting. Joyful applause broke out across the audience.

With the call of the new Interim Rector, Vestry member Mark Boyer resigned his position effective immediately due to a conflict of interest. He and Rev. Mary Kay Brown are married.

Light refreshments and fellowship followed after the meeting adjourned.
