Nearly 50 family members gathered together Sat, Feb 21st for dinner and "snow" fun. The evening started off with a craft where children decorated picture frames they could insert a snowy photo into and was followed by a potluck dinner, games and a hot chocolate bar. Kids participated in a "snowball" relay, using foam balls, and then tried their best to eat marshmallows dangling from strings. But the highlight of the evening was the "snowball" fight. The children made "snowballs" by crunching up tissue paper. The room was then separated into parents on one side and kids on the other. Within the allotted time, whoever ended up throwing more snowballs onto the other side won. The parents won the first round, but the children came back strong to win the final round. FFN is a time for St. David's families to have fun and get to know one another better. Tyler Schalow (6 yrs old) put it beautifully when he told his mom, "You know what I liked best about tonight? I got to make some new friends." The mission for this FFN was to provide supplies for the upcoming Mission Trip to El Hogar. Families provided sweatshirts and made other donations. In March, FFN will join in the REACH For the Arts Talent Show on March 14th from 5:00-9:00pm. We hope to see you there! |
