St. David’s Episcopal Church is seeking a full-time youth ministry leader who is Christ-centered, energetic and fun-loving. St. David’s is a vibrant, growing parish with a variety of worship styles and an average weekly attendance at youth group of 35 middle and high school students. Candidate must be willing to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends, and to be fully immersed in the lives of our youth.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience working with youth strongly desirable
• Demonstrated leadership and leadership development skills
• Well-developed organizational skills
• Willingness to work collaboratively with youth, adults, parents and staff
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with youth, adult mentors and parents, including website, e-mails, texts etc.
• Knowledge of scripture
• Episcopalian or willing to learn and demonstrate the Episcopal culture and identity
• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required

Areas of Responsibility:

• Building relationships with youth
• Guide youth on their spiritual journeys
• Willing to support youth in extra-curricular activities
• Help build relationships between youth in the church
• Provide pastoral care to youth in need
• Actively participate in St. David’s covenant community
• Planning, organizing and leading youth groups for middle and high school students
• Recruit youth to youth groups
• Recruit, train and supervise adult mentors
• Plan creative activities, curriculums, meeting agendas
• Coordinate service projects
• Develop youth-led worship strategy
• Education and Outreach
• Planning and teaching confirmation classes (in collaboration with interim rector)
• Planning and teaching Bible study, Christian education classes to middle and high school students
• Oversee annual REACH mission trip
• Administration
• Manage youth ministry budget
• Participate in staff meetings, parish planning, and vestry meetings as needed

Will consider both lay and ordained candidates.
Salary commensurate with experience.
