St. David’s Church is celebrating its 20th anniversary in April, 2010. All are invited to attend the 20th Anniversary Celebration weekend to be held April 16 through 18, 2010. Since Margaret Mercer founded her school and chapel here in the 1830s, this has been sacred ground, committed to education and worship. God’s intention for this place was manifest in the recovery of the old land deed in 1988. In 1990 St. David’s was formally recognized as a mission church of the Diocese of Virginia. The Rev. Stephen McWhorter became the first Vicar on St. David’s Day, March 1, 1990, and the first Easter service of the congregation was celebrated under a tent, Easter 1990. Over the years, the movement of the Holy Spirit has been palpable here. Our beautiful sanctuary, our premier preschool, ministries, formation, worship and outreach are all tangible reminders of the faith and vision of so many who have dared to dream and trust in the Lord. Join us as we celebrate our legacy and look forward to growing into God’s imagination for us. Our anniversary weekend includes:
