Rector's Blog: Some PIG!

The Senior High youth are going camping. And they are inviting the whole parish.

I have a good friend who operates a camp/resort on Raystown Lake in PA, about 2 hours away. It’s called Heritage Cove. Great place.

Greaaaaat place.

Besides the lake it has a volleyball court, basketball court, a playground for little kids, an in-ground swimming pool, mountain bike trails, and a pavilion with lights and picnic tables where we can gather at night.

We are going on Aug. 24-27. I am going up on Thursday (Aug. 24) and anyone who wants to come along is welcome. I suspect that many will come up after work on Friday.

The cost is $30.00/campsite/day for families. The cost for any youth who come up without their parents is $7.50/day. Bring your tents and sleeping bags. You can buy groceries in nearby Saxton, PA.

And here is the best part:

If 70 people show, my buddy will roast us a pig! Yummm.

Anyone in the parish have a water-ski boat? Maybe the Rector needs to buy a Ski Nautique? Uh-oh. The last time the Rector owned a ski boat, no work got done during the summer.

But he had a greaaaaat tan.
