First Steps for All

The First Steps course is designed for newcomers and parishioners.  In the 3-session course, we will explain fully the Five Root Values that provide the enduring standard for life in a covenant community.

“The Root Values are based on the Ten Commandments, which are far more than a set of rules to be checked off,” said the Rector.

“The Decalogue arose from the experience of a people whom God freed from slavery.  Those people then formed a community based on values very different from the inhumanity of their previous existence.

“Those who participate in the First Steps course will learn how the Ten Commandments provide a loving basis for a mutually supportive community.”

The course will begin on Sunday, July 6, after the 10:45 service in the church’s education room.  It will continue through the next two Sundays, the 13th and 20th, at the same time.  To participate, please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it at the Church office, 703-729-0570 or by email.
