Vacation Bible School is a time when children learn to love each other as they are loved by Jesus.  As part of that learning, children are encouraged to help a mission.

This year, we are gathering school supplies in a Back-to-School drive for the Northern Virginia Family Service.  Volunteers established NVFS in 1924.  It staffed by professionals trained in counseling, social work and community outreach. 

NVFS’s mission is to “empower individuals and families to improve their quality of life, and to promote community cooperation and support in responding to family needs.”

NVFS operates on the principle that families are the foundation of a strong society.  Families come in many different forms, but universally they model behaviors and teach lessons that transfer into the community.  A strong family creates a healthy community.
