At its June 16 meeting the Vestry passed a resolution that brings to conclusion a five month disernment process begun in Jaunary 2008. The Rector challenged the Vestry at the 2008 Annual Meeting to address the long-term financial instability of the parish. After faithfully leading the parish through a series of workshops and a convocation, the Vestry has passed a resolution: To Provide a Hopeful Future. Posted here is a letter to the parish summarizing the Vestry resolution and providing the Vestry's rationale for its decision. Through June and July, the Vestry will communicate with the parish concrete steps for parishioners to take to empower the Vestry resolution. "There is a time to listen and a time to act," the Rector said. "The time to act has come. The Vestry has led the way. It is time for the Committed to stand up and demonstrate for our generation what faith can do." |
