Do you like meeting new people? Do you leave church filled with grace and the willingness to share? Do you enjoy spreading the good news and life in this Covenant Community? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then the Welcoming Ministry is where you belong. Come and learn more about this important ministry on Saturday, November 15, 2008, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am in the sanctuary: Ushers and Greeters Team, Visiting Team, Fellowship and Incorporation Team and Welcoming Resource Teams. The growth of our Covenant Community depends on these key roles! Since late spring, several committees in this community have been meeting about items which affect the work of the ushers and greeters. This has resulted in a number of changes to the 10:45 am service with spillover effects on the 9:00 am service. Two major goals are to strengthen the traditional components of the 10:45 am service and to make this church a more purposefully welcoming parish. We have already initiated several of these changes. Now we are getting ready to implement the remainder. At this meeting on November 15, all members of the welcoming teams will get together and are strongly encouraged to attend and learn how they will all fit together in this project. Discussion items at the meeting will include mission, goals and objectives with special attention to some basic guidelines. Your input and observations will be very important both at this meeting and over the next few weeks. By the middle of the Advent season, everyone will be working together like a fine Swiss time piece. If you are interested in becoming an usher/greeter to help provide a very necessary ministry you are welcome to come to the meeting on November 15, 2008, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, and see for yourself what it is like to be a valuable usher/greeter at this church.
