Nothing expresses the anticipation of Advent like teenagers making cookies and not eating them. On November 30th, the middle school and high school youth groups will meet at the church as usual. But instead of the normal routine, they will hop into cars and travel to local parish homes to bake cookies for The Advent Festival. Our adult mentors will be with them having fun, and making sure some of the cookies do make it to the Advent Festival the following Sunday.  The sights and smells of a cookie baking are a good metaphor for advent. We know Christmas is coming. In fact, we can almost taste it. But still we must wait. I suppose it would be acceptable to eat a few cookies, though. Just to make sure they are okay. We'll meet at the church on November 30th at the normal time: 6:00 pm. We will return to the church no later than 9:00 pm.
