Great fun was had by all at the October Family Fellowship Night (FFN) held on Saturday, October 11, 2008! With nearly 60 people in attendance, families enjoyed a tasty spaghetti dinner, followed by a "Make a Mummy" contest. Kids were given rolls of toilet paper to decorate their chosen grown-up. Laughter and giggles were heard all over campus as more than 10 Mummies were created. After a great round of applause, a Mummy Parade led folks back into the Narthex to carve and/or paint pumpkins. Emma Nathan said, "I love painting pumpkins! Mine is decorated like it has M&Ms on it." Even adults used their creativity and humor. Mark Steffler's jack-o-lantern consisted of, "the scariest thing I've seen in a long time," a jagged line heading downward with the letters D-O-W next to it. The mission for the October FFN was to bring canned goods to support Loudoun Interfaith Relief. The 13 families who attended were able to share their blessings and fill up half of the red wagon in the Narthex. November's Family Fellowship Night will be held Saturday, November 8, 2008 from 5:30 - 7:00 pm. The theme will be "Thanks be to God." Dinner will be a potluck followed by fun activities for the whole family. More details to come. Please contact Holly Hanback with questions or ideas. |
