James Tracy Fund

ImageThe James Tracy Fund (JT Fund) was established by St. David’s Episcopal Church in 2009. This special fund was set up in honor of Jim Tracy in recognition of his volunteer efforts. For many years, Jim’s dedicated service to both the church and preschool, in every aspect of management oversight and maintenance, has been invaluable. This fund can be used for scholarships or special projects for the preschool.

The JT Fund had initial contributions from the Vestry and the Preschool, along with a few individual donors, but is now running low. Since 2009, the JT Fund has been used for the following purposes:

  • 2009-2010 – Fully funded scholarship to a student ($1890) whose father serves in the military
  • 2010-2011 – Fully funded scholarship to the same student ($2745) and partial scholarship to another whose dad lost his job shortly after moving to Northern Virginia
  • 2011-2012- Funding scholarships amounting to $10,000
  • Estimated additional unfunded scholarship need for remainder of 2011-12 year: $3500

The preschool has a goal not to turn away any student seeking a Christian preschool education due to monetary constraints. The Parents of Preschoolers (POPS) organization also makes annual contributions to the preschool scholarship fund, which is fully utilized each year before the Jim Tracy fund is used.

Please join us in our mission of helping children form foundations for joyful, life-long learning by giving to the Jim Tracy Fund. Any amount is helpful.

Please make checks payable to St. David’s Episcopal Church and write in the memo line “James Tracy Fund”. Cash is also accepted, please put it in an envelope marked for the Jim Tracy Fund. You can put your tax deductible donation into the offering basket, drop it by or mail it to the church office. Thank you!
