Where no one stands alone

Some people think of their lives as independent of other people. People work hard to be self-sufficient. They shy away from asking for help.

But God does not create us for loneliness. The creation story says, “It is not good for Man to be alone.” But despite God’s intention, too many people live lonely lives.

A follower of Jesus said it best a long time ago:

"Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I give away all I have to feed the poor, and if I deliver my body to be burned but have not love, I gain nothing." I Corinthians 13:1-3

We believe God calls us to be covenant community where no stands alone. Of course, if some chooses to be alone, there is nothing we can do. Our great hope is that anyone who comes among us, very quickly discovers that he or she is among friends.
