Learning to be loved by Jesus

One Jesus story involves a rich man who comes to Jesus seeking eternal life. The rich man has everything anyone could every want. And yet, he is looking for something more. Jesus challenges the man to give away all he has. Jesus challenges him to let go of the stuff that gets in the way of love.

The story has an unhappy ending. The rich man goes away, sad. The simple fact of the matter is that he does not know how to be loved by Jesus.

This is our challenge. We are not perfect. But let’s face it. We also know we have a lot going for us. Nevertheless a certain quality of life – eternal life - still eludes us.

For us, it’s not about getting it right. It’s about learning how to be loved by Jesus.
