Truth or Consequences Dry Run

We Laughed, We Cried, We Hoped...Truth or Consequences – The Workshop

ImageThis description of a Tuesday evening might be mistaken for an episode of American Idol.  In fact, it describes the first dry run of Truth Or Consequences -- The Workshop.

A Shepherd Group volunteered to be the first group to complete the Workshop and to provide suggestions for improvements.

“The dry run for Truth or Consequences was a success,” said one of the facilitators, Carol Bonifant.

“As predicted, those in the Shepherd Group were candid, and did not honey coat their thoughts or feelings, but also genuinely appreciated the experience.”

Four of the participants agreed that this experience gave them a clear understanding of the financial condition of the church for the first time.  In addition, five of the six participants volunteered to participate in further discernment and analysis of alternative possible solutions.

While some adjustments will be made based on the first dry run, we will be able to begin the workshops in earnest after Easter.  By March 31st training of vestry members will be complete.  They will then contact the first 46 participants, from whom the facilitators for the rest of the parish will be drawn.
