Page 4 of 4 How does the curriculum differ from age to age? The same curriculum strands and key experiences are addressed at each age level. However, the attention span of children can be remarkably different. For the younger child, structured activities would be shorter and the day would include fewer activities than the older 4 and 5 year old class. Stories for the older students have more complicated plots and a larger vocabulary. Older students have more developed fine motor skills and can begin working on more elaborate projects. Their expressive skills are more advanced. They can begin to use more complex sentence structures to express ideas, thoughts, and concerns. |
