FAQs

Do I have to be a member of the parish to participate in a Shepherd Group?

You do not need to be a member of the parish to participate in a Shepherd Group. All that is required is that you have an interest in meeting new people and receiving the support that comes from regular participation in a Shepherd Group.

What Happens in a Shepherd Group?

The group gathers in someone’s where they are warmly greeted. Visitors and newcomers are always welcome. The group begins with a a moment of silence. The leader prays and invites the group to check in with one another sharing a high-point and a low-point of the week. There follows a discussion about a real life issue informed by faith. The parish office makes available a reflection guide based on the previous Sunday's sermon to launch the conversation. The group prays together. Some people pray aloud; others pray silently. Most Covenant groups last between 1-1/2 and 2 hours and have between 5 and 12 people present.

How Can I Join a Shepherd Group?

There are two ways to join a Shepherd Group.

One way is to Contact Carrie Rush in the parish office, at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .  Carrie will ask you a few questions that will help her to identify a group that might be a right fit for you. She will have a leader contact you.
