Read the Bible in a Year!
Join the clergy and many of your fellow parishioners who have taken on the challenge and blessing of reading the number one selling book of all time, the Bible, in a year. That’s right, the whole thing. The Rev. Will Packard will lead us as we follow a reading course which offers some Old Testament, Psalm, and New Testament readings Monday through Saturday. While not a requirement to purchase, the reading selections and reflections for each day will come from The Bible Challenge, edited by Mark P. Zabriskie. If you buy on Amazon, be sure to list St. David’s through AmazonSmile. When we read the Bible as a group, it helps us to stay accountable and gives us knowledge that others are prayerfully reading this holy conversation along with you. We will begin on Monday, October 1st and will offer discussions from time to time (dates to be sent out at a later time) to discuss and hear how the reading is going. We will post the daily readings as put forth in The Bible Challenge and ask that you sign-up through this link so that we may send you updates and information. Please let us know if you have questions about translations or need help getting or choosing a Bible (A study Bible may help intentional reading). We look forward to going on this journey with you!

Becoming Beloved Community: Sacred Conversations on Race and Reconciliation
Has your heart has been aching about the state of race relations in our community and our culture?
Have you struggled with what words to use or felt unheard?
Have you have been wondering what you can do to promote increased understanding, dialogue and respect?
You are invited to attend a six session educational and interactive class called "Becoming Beloved Community". Join us as we address what is a serious issue in God's church and God's world.
A small group of St. David's parishioners have developed this class after two years of meeting, talking and sharing together.
We will use resources including film clips, articles and books, and group activities to understand more about racism and how we might make a difference in dismantling racism.
Our response to racism is a spiritual issue. Our intention is to become more like the 'beloved community' that the gospel writer John envisions - a community in which every member is included, respected, known and valued.
Sessions will be held October 3, 10, 24 and November 7,14 and 28 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. Please plan to attend all sessions. Group will be closed after the first session. For more information, contact Rev. Mary Kay.
