Shrine Mont Camps, delivered right to you!
Light in the Valley is a new summer experience designed to help campers ages 8-18 create the feeling of camp at home! Light in the Valley is FREE!
Campers will receive a box filled with games, craft projects, chaplain’s times, and other favorite camp activities. These activities will be centered around our theme of bringing light into the Valley of the World. Campers will be encouraged to reflect on how to share their own light with their families, friends, and communities. Everything you need for an at-home camp experience will be included in the box. You can do the activities independently at home, at any time.

Alleluia Feeding Ministry
During this difficult time of the COVID 19 pandemic, the deacon of St. Gabriel’s Episcopal Church, in Leesburg, Holly Hanback, saw an opportunity to assist families in need. She reached out to St. Gabriel’s sister church, St. David’s Episcopal Church for assistance. Within 24 hours, the “Alleluia Ministry” was born. Once a week, donations of food, supplies and children’s games are collected from parishioners and delivered to 70 needy families in Loudoun County. Please take a look at the updated Alleluia Ministry needs list. A full list of supplies needed can be found here. Produce is still the number one need.
Save the date- Join your fellow parishioners for St David’s Virtual Bingo Night Fundraiser on Friday, September 11th at 7 p.m.
Hope Healing and Compassion
As if it were not enough to be dealing with addiction, the daily challenges, fears, worries and isolation brought on by this pandemic are almost too much to bear alone, yet…a message of gratitude from Recovery Ministries of the Episcopal Church.
“Loss and loneliness aren’t the only things I’m feeling today. It’s not even two weeks since John died so there’s also a lot of numbness, a lot of not feeling at all. But I am becoming aware of a deep well of gratitude. I’ve had many, many years of training in AA in how to live one day, one moment, at a time without drink or drug. I’ve had the support and the example of thousands of sober people who have shown me that there is nothing, nothing in the world…that can separate us from the love of God. And that love is made manifest in our Fellowship (and St David’s). You have shown me and taught me how to recognize God’s love all around me. An old-timer said to me recently that sobriety is growing to recognize that God is everywhere. Love is everywhere. Gratitude is everywhere. So, I’ll end with a list: I am grateful for the sober years that John and I had together. I am grateful for the easy sober laughter we shared. I am grateful for the sober spats and the sober reconciliations. I am grateful for going sober to church and for going sober to meetings together. I am grateful for our sober dinner parties. I am grateful for our sober symphony concerts and sober Red Sox games. I am grateful for the garden, a gift of our sobriety. And most of all, I am so grateful for sobriety, for recognizing that God is here with me now, and that God always has always been with me--has always been with us. Nothing can separate us from God’s love.”
