Stewardship
God, Gratitude, and Generosity
Stewardship 2026
Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
- 2 Corinthians 9:6-8
Stewardship means taking care of all of God’s creation, which means caring for our earth, our church, our communities, homes, families, and especially our bodies, minds, and souls. We are grateful for all the gifts God has given us. We “become a church that looks and acts like Jesus” by spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ to everyone, not only in sharing our stories and Bible stories or prayers, and welcoming everyone, but also by surrendering our lives back to Christ in thanksgiving, giving, and serving in love.
The ABCs of Stewardship
What is God making you Aware of?
Who does God want you to Be?
How does God want you to Commit?
First, using the ABCs of Stewardship, discern what gifts God is making you Aware of, and ways that you can share them.
Second, who does God want you to Be in terms of sharing those gifts with your community? A member of a ministry? A leader? An organizer?
Third, in what ways can you
Commit to sharing your gifts? Whether it’s joining the vestry, joining the finance committee, leading a group, a one-off event, or committing one day a month to a ministry or coming to worship on Sunday, in person or online, we welcome and value you.
Why Pledge?
Each of you should use whatever gifts you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.
- 1 Peter 4:10
Pledging is critical spiritual discipline for the church. By asking you to fill out a yearly commitment form and to clearly label your gifts as intended to fulfill that commitment, St. David’s is better able to anticipate parishioner donations for the year, making effective budgeting for vision and mission possible.
To know Christ and make Christ known in a community where no one stands alone, and lives are transformed.
Aspirational Dreams of some parishioners:
“I see St David’s feeding the homeless.”
“Affordable housing on our empty land would be wonderful.”
“Partnering with other churches and taking worship and Eucharist to the wider community!”
“More outreach to the needy in Loudoun.”
“A feeding ministry like Grace to Go.”
